Recently, wrapping up my search for a holster for my Canon 40D with 28-135mm zoom, I purchased the “Canon Zoom Pack 1000 Holster Case + Two (2) BP-511a Batteries + Cameta Bonus Accessory Kit for Canon EOS 5D, 40D, 30D and Digital Rebel DSLR Cameras” from Amazon. I am poised to leave on an extended trip abroad, in a few days, and needed these items. The kit arrived in a timely fashion and most of its contents are satisfactory. I like: ·The Canon Zoom Pack 1000. The 40D with lens fits snugly in this well padded and strong Canon holster. It has a detachable shoulder strap and Velcro adjuster for the holster interior (presumable to accommodate shorter lenses). The holster, also, sports an odd non-detachable waist belt, with buckle. ·The Precision Cleaning Kit for digital cameras features an air blower, carrying case, lens cloth, lens cleaning liquid, brush, cotton swabs, and lens cleaning tissues. It will help to insure my 40D’s clean longevity. ·The CTA Mini Battery Charger (110V/220V) package assures that the charger is a “worldwide AC power source”. We’ll soon see. I don’t like: ·The two CTA rechargeable batteries. Amazon advertises these batteries as two Canon BP-115 or BP-115a batteries. These are not Canon batteries, but rather “CTA Digital Accessories” batteries, with a “3 year limited warranty”, that “replaces Canon BP-511″, say their labels. (Remember, the BP-511a with 1390mAh, has 25 percent more power than the BP-511 1100mAh. These CTA batteries claim 1500mAh. Again, we’ll soon see. ) ·The entire Zoom Kit is too pricey. (Time permitting, I could’ve shop around for its materials, including stock Canon equipment, for a happier experience. ) Because I’m in a time-bind for a 40D holster and extra batteries I’m keeping this product. Otherwise, I would have returned it as an item not advertised. (My wife reminds that “one gets what ones pays for” and real Canon BP batteries would likely hike this Zoom Kit’s price. )
